Kinda, But Not Really, Spencer Pumpelly Joins Magus Racing for Rolex 24 at Daytona…

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (January 26, 2017)- In a move that can only be described as convenient, Magnus Racing will add one more winning element to this weekend’s Rolex 24 at Daytona lineup, with two-time champion Spencer Pumpelly taking on hosting duties for the famed Magnus Racing pitside webcast.

Keeping with a tradition that began during their 2012 Rolex 24 victory, Magnus Racing will again stream this weekend’s race in its entirety from their pit area, re-presenting their “Magnus Racing LIVE!” webstream, a fun and unique look at what it takes for one team to race in North America’s biggest sportscar race. This is all part of Magnus Racing’s commitment to Make Webcasting Great Again.

Theoretically operating for all 24 hours, Magnus Racing’s webstream can be found at MagnusRacing.com, or similarly via YouTube Live (by simply looking up the Magnus Racing channel). The stream will begin at 2:30PM ET this Saturday, January 27, and run for the next 24 hours straight.

“It’s a different role for sure, but I’m actually really excited to do this,” stated Pumpelly. “The Magnus Racing webcast has become a bit of an institution at Daytona, and in their return I’m glad I can be a part of it. We have a lot of fun activities in store for the race, and I look forward to being part of the antics while also providing some insight from my experience.”

Pumpelly, who drove for Magnus in 2017 and was part of their lone victory at Lime Rock Park, joins the team as one of the most respected veterans of the event. Having driven the Rolex 24 for nearly two decades, the Atlanta resident has two class victories to his name, as well as playing a key role in team strategy during last year’s victory for Alegra Motorsports.

No stranger to humor, the father of two will join the webcast to add both humor and knowledge, being available throughout the stream to answer questions from the public, provide unique perspective, and of course provide insight on all that is happening in the race.

Additionally, Spencer will be joined by long-time co-host Sean Heckman, who will continue to co-host and produce, beyond additional responsibilities away from the webcast.
