Magnus Racing to Present LIVE Webcast with GRAND-AM and Indianapolis Motor Speedway during Brickyard Grand Prix

Salt Lake City, UT (July 23, 2012)- In a move to continue their efforts to bring fans right in to the heart of GRAND-AM Road Racing, Magnus Racing is proud to announce a complete, 11-hour live webcast in conjunction with GRAND-AM and Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the entire Brickyard Grand Prix on Friday, July 27.

Marking professional sports car racing’s first ever venture in to the famed “Brickyard,” both GRAND-AM’s Rolex Sports Car Series and Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge will be the only on-track action Friday during NASCAR’s upcoming Super Weekend at the Brickyard.

As a one-day show, both the Rolex Series and Continental Tire Challenge will have to practice, qualify, and race in the same day, which inevitably means that teams will have to work and prepare under a very rigorous schedule.

As a busy day for drivers and crew, Magnus Racing is proud to present a full-day webcast; bringing fans live in to the pits to witness all the action, including the opportunity to interact. Starting the broadcast live with the first practice session at 8AM for the Continental Tire Challenge, the broadcast team will literally stay on the air right until the end of the Rolex Series race, totaling just over 11 hours of broadcast time.

Running on the official Livestream feed of Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the team will look to create an all-inclusive look at both series, including an endless number of guest appearances from not only GRAND-AM figures, but also Indianapolis Motor Speedway at large. The feed will feature a live interactive chat feature in which fans can write in to on-camera guests.

No strangers to internet streaming, Magnus Racing is most noted for their presentation of their Live! From Daytona broadcast at this year’s 50th Running of The Rolex 24 At Daytona. At Daytona, the Magnus team literally broadcast for the entire 24 hours of the event, featuring live team radio, pitside cameras, as well as of course continuous commentary and chat from the team’s drivers and crew with the fans. With over 140,000 views at Daytona, the team will look to expand their reach for Indianapolis by integrating the entire GRAND-AM roster rather than just the singular focus of the no. 44 Magnus Racing Porsche GT3 Cup.

Continuing the tradition, the stream will be once again hosted by Jill Beck of The Children’s Tumor Foundation, as well as Sean Heckman of The Media Barons. Beck, the program director for the Foundation’s Racing4Research program (racing4research.org), is no stranger to motorsports. Having been a lifelong fan, Jill Beck is a routine member of the sportscar community, hosting foundation-sponsored events at a number of racing venues, including GRAND-AM. Heckman, whose company engages in many of Magnus Racing’s marketing and PR initiatives, will be lucky if he stays awake.

For Magnus Racing Team Owner John Potter, the ability to present this stream in collaboration with both GRAND-AM and Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a true honor.

“After Daytona, we really recognized the power of these webcasts to bring our fans in to the team,” stated Potter. “The highlight for us is simply the interactive element. It takes a special type of fan to sit with us for the entirety of the experience, and I was blown away with how many fans stayed up for the whole 24 hours. Indianapolis will be a special event. Beyond the heritage and significance of our first race there, the one-day show will make for a truly crazy day. We really appreciate the interest and support that both GRAND-AM and Indianapolis Motor Speedway have shown in this, and we’re glad we can do this for the whole series, it really is a family.”

Finally, no Magnus Racing webcast would be complete without an endless series of interactive games and prizes. Stay tuned to the team’s Facebook (/MagnusRacing) and Twitter (@magnusracing) accounts to win a number of daily giveaways… AND OF COURSE, the team will bring back The Magnus Challenge, in which any fan who can name all 11 secret words given out throughout all 11-hours will win a prize pack, as well as be entered in a Grand Prize Giveaway to become a member of the team for a day.

Interested fans can view the webcast on a number of websites. The feed will be hosted by Livestream’s Indianapolis Motor Speedway channel, which can be found at www.livestream.com/indianapolismotorspeedway. Additionally, the feed can be found at indianapolismotorspeedway.com, magnusracing.com, and racing4research.org.
