Andy Lally, no. 44
Following a 2011 season which included not only NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie-of-the-Year honors, but also his third Rolex 24 at Daytona victory and sixth Rolex watch, series veteran Andy Lally joined Magnus Racing in 2012.
Immediately beginning his tenure with Magnus on a high note, Lally's first race with Magnus, the 50th Running of The Rolex 24 at Daytona, resulted in a win... the first in the team's short history. Lally and teammate John Potter would also follow that up with victory at The Inaugural Brickyard Grand Prix, clinching the inaugural North American Endurance Championship in the process. Continuing with the team through 2013, Lally would aid in the team's third victory and runner-up in the championship.
Returning for the team in the 2014 debut of the all-new TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, Andy proved strong once again, taking his first-ever victory at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring on top of multiple victories in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge. Additionally, Lally would score a top-10 in his lone NASCAR appearance for the year at Road America.
Confirmed for the 2018 season, Lally will return with John Potter for his sixth season with the team, and seventh with Potter.
One of the greats of GT racing, the Northport, NY native has taken a number of wins, including taking the 2004 Rolex Series championship and Rolex 24 GT victories in 2009 and 2011 and 2012. Lally, a three-time Rolex Series champion (2001 SRP II, 2004SGS, 2006 Rolex GT), was also the all-time mileage leader in the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series.
Similarly, Lally has paired with Team Owner/Driver John Potter even before the team was formed. Driving together in a Porsche 911 in the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge in 2009, the duo scored one win - Potter's first in professional sports car racing - as well as two additional podiums.
