Magnus Racing Gives Thanks, Spills the Tea on Team’s Future

As all of us at Magnus Racing gathered for Thanksgiving dinner, we counted our blessings. The 2021 race season is over (hallelujah)! We’re grateful for the great work of this season’s partner, Archangel, and we appreciate the crew and team of Magnus with Archangel and the Acura NSX GT3 after what was a tough season. Though we lacked the results we wanted, we tried and tried again. Finally, in November at Petit Le Mans, we made it to the final laps of the year, finished sixth, and the Acura was in great condition. So there’s that. However, it still doesn’t reflect the hardworking, fun crew we spent the year with, so a big thank you to each and every one of you who made this season possible! We can’t finish out the year without recognising your efforts.

As the leaves fall from the trees and frost begins to take over, we wax nostalgic for the days of yore. If you’re a fan of Magnus Racing, you know we’re not afraid to try new things. At the same time, we also miss the comforts of the old times. So, in that spirit, we’re getting the band back together, Well, some of them. Those who aren’t traitors (you know who you are, Yoko), and some new great additions too. We’re ready for some hearty competition and some classic Magnus bad humour. And with that, we’re excited to announce our epic new name for 2022:

Magnus Racing.

Yep. That’s it. Just Magnus Racing, the OG. We’re taking back the reins, and maybe we’ve aged a little bit, but like a fine wine, right? Right. To keep it fresh, not too oaky in flavor, and with lots of options for good old-fashioned British humour, you’ll find us next year in an Aston Martin.

So join us. Kick back with some tea, develop a taste for marmite, and turn up the Beatles or Spice Girls, whichever you prefer. We may not be as classy as James Bond, but hey, Austin Powers was loveable too, right?

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! We’ll see you at Daytona. Cherio!

TUNE IN: Motul Petit Le Mans

The end of the 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship has arrived, and Magnus with Archangel is ready to close out the year with the finale event, Motul Petit Le Mans. While it seems odd to be heading into a race weekend when holiday TV and radio commercials are on full blast, we’re more ready than ever to get the No. 44 Magnus Racer Acura NSX back on track. Full season drivers John Potter and Andy Lally will be joined by our usual endurance addition, Spencer Pumpelly. With the event a month later than normal, lower temperatures will certainly play a factor in this weekend’s 10-hour race. If you’re attending in person, be sure to swing by Styled Aesthetic in the vendor area to pick up some Magnus gear to keep you warm! If you’re watching from home in the U.S., you can watch the start live Saturday, November 13 on NBC at 12:00 PM Eastern, then flip over to NBCSN at 3:00 PM. If you’re outside the United States, please visit the IMSA International Coverage page to find your proper tune-in information.

TUNE IN: Adventure Waits for Magnus Racer at VIR

After a tough Long Beach weekend, our west coast swing is done, and now we’re headed to one of the most beautiful tracks on the IMSA WeatherTech calendar: VIRginia International Raceway. This weekend brings the No. 44 Archangel with Magnus Racing Acura NSX to the Michelin GT Challenge at VIR, the second GT-only race of the year. This two-hour, 40-minute race is also the final sprint event of the year before we close out the season with Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. This weekend will have 15 GTD and three GTLM entries battle it out on the 3.27-mile, 17-turn road course of pure heaven. This Saturday’s race will air live on NBC, starting at 12:00pm Eastern, and fans outside the United States can watch via imsa.tv or check their country’s listings.

TUNE IN: Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach

Magnus Racer is back in action this weekend, racing again on the West Coast for the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. This downtown street circuit is always a good time, and we love all the fans that come out to watch us share a weekend of racing with IndyCar and Formula Drift. The team behind the No. 44 Archangel with Magnus Racing Acura NSX is excited for our 100-minute sprint race on Saturday, proudly racing the machinery of the presenting sponsor. This weekend’s race will be airing live on NBCSN on Saturday, September 25 beginning at 5:00PM Eastern. Fans can also watch live on TRACKPASS in the U.S.A., or internationally on imsa.tv.

TUNE IN: California Dreaming with Magnus Racer

Magnus Racer is headed to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for a weekend in the California sun for the next round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. In preparation for our upcoming west coast swing of races, we just completed a test at Utah Motorsport Campus for the No. 44 Magnus with Archangel Acrua NSX. The test went well, and we’re looking forward to getting on track at Laguna Seca and running through the infamous corkscrew.

The Hyundai Monterey Sports Car Championship (again, that’s the name of the race, not a championship) will begin on Sunday, September 12 at 1:10 PM Pacific, 4:10 PM Eastern. If you have a cable subscription, you can watch live on NBCSN, or if you’ve cut the cord, you can stream on NBC Sports Gold’s streaming service, TRACKPASS. Live timing will be available for all sessions on livescoring.us, and IMSA Radio will cover qualifying and the race, and can be streamed here

As always, we encourage you to show us how much you love us by purchasing our team gear, whether it’s online or in person at the Styled Aesthetic tent in the vendor area.
